Iranian general killed in Syria "on mission" PHOTO

Iranian general Abolfazl Alijani was "martyred in Syria's Aleppo while on a mission".

The Fars news agency affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) reported on August 23, and did not divulge details about the circumstances of his death. 

Earlier reports said Alijani had been killed on August 21 in Syria without sharing the exact location of his death. His body will be repatriated on August 24 and buried on August 26.

Alijani, a member of the IRGC Ground Force, worked at the Military Engineering Centre of the IRGC's Amirolmomenin University of Science and Technology in the central province of Isfahan.
