Iranian prosecutor general: Fair decision on attack on Azerbaijani embassy to be made PHOTO
A fair decision will be made in the case of the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran, Iranian Prosecutor General Mohammad Kazem Movahedi Azad said.
He made the remarks during his working visit to Baku at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart Kamran Aliyev to participate in the fourth meeting of the Prosecutors Generals of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organisation, which will be held in Baku, the Prosecutor General's Office told Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani official noted the importance of measures aimed at developing business ties between the Azerbaijani and Iranian prosecutor's offices, expressing hope for the further continuation of bilateral cooperation.
Aliyev also emphasised that the statement of the Iranian prosecutor's office in connection with the conviction of the person who committed a terrorist act against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran is an important step.
In turn, Mohammad Kazem Movahedi Azad stated that Iran attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan in the field of law, and expressed satisfaction with having made his first foreign visit as prosecutor general to Azerbaijan.
He noted that the criminal case initiated in connection with the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy has been sent to court and a fair decision will be made in this case.
The issues of legal cooperation between the two countries, including extradition, extradition of convicts, drug trafficking, environmental offences and other topics, were discussed at the meeting.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizada and Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi attended the meeting.
