Islamic Development Bank interested in rehabilitation of Azerbaijan's liberated lands
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is interested in supporting projects to be implemented in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
According to Report, this was stated by President of the Bank Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser at a meeting with First Deputy Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Al Jasser noted that Azerbaijan has made a great contribution to the activity of the Bank. The IDB president emphasized the importance of implemented joint projects from the point of view of economic development, including infrastructure in Azerbaijan, and noted the bank's interest in expanding cooperation.
The First Deputy Minister of Economy underlined that Azerbaijan highly values cooperation with the bank. He said the bank would expand its partnership with the IDB, cooperation in reconstruction and restructuring of liberated territories, support for SMEs, financing of banks, energy and food security.
At the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation with the IDB in the restoration of liberated territories of Azerbaijan. The role of the corporation in strengthening the export potential of Azerbaijan and the introduction of Islamic finance was discussed, and further joint steps in this direction were considered.
