Israeli forces target Iranian helicopters, assert dominance in air campaign
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have continued their aerial operations in Iranian territory for a sixth consecutive day, IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin stated.
In a statement, Defrin confirmed that Israeli forces targeted Iranian military assets attempting to engage Israeli aircraft, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
"We attacked five Iranian combat helicopters that tried to hit our aircraft. The Air Force has been operating for the sixth consecutive day. We will continue to strike wherever we want to strike in Iran. There is Iranian resistance, but we control the air and will continue to control it," he said.
Defrin underscored the scope of Israel’s military engagement, revealing that the IDF is currently conducting operations across multiple theaters. "We are operating in seven arenas. The war objectives have not changed, and we will continue to act forcefully to return the hostages and topple Hamas rule," he added.
The remarks reflect Israel's ongoing strategic posture following the launch of Operation Rising Lion, which began on June 13 with targeted strikes against sites linked to Iran’s nuclear program. Since then, the conflict has broadened, drawing in multiple fronts and resulting in civilian and military casualties on both sides.
The IDF has reiterated that its objectives remain unchanged: securing the return of Israeli hostages and dismantling Hamas's control, both in Gaza and in its broader network of regional influence.
