Israeli president meets Azerbaijan's economy minister to strengthen economic, bilateral ties
Israeli President Isaac Herzog met with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, to discuss the strengthening of ties between their nations.
Jabbarov shared the details of the meeting on his X page, Caliber.Az reports.
"During our working visit to Israel, we had the honour of being received by President Isaac Herzog. We discussed key areas of Azerbaijan-Israel relations outlined by the heads of state, as well as opportunities for further economic cooperation," Jabbarov wrote.
During his visit, Jabbarov, who also holds the position of chairman at SOCAR, is expected to sign an agreement that will grant SOCAR licenses for gas exploration in Israel.
Jabbarov's trip follows a meeting last month between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev.
In their discussions in Jerusalem, Hajiyev conveyed a message from president Ilham Aliyev, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s dedication to bolstering bilateral relations and addressing regional issues.
