Japan, South Korea condemn North Korea’s launch of satellite into orbit
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa and South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin held a bilateral meeting during which they condemned the launch of a North Korean reconnaissance satellite into orbit.
The talks were held in the South Korean city of Busan and one of the key topics of discussion was the successful launch of the DPRK satellite into space, Gazeta.ru reports citing the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
"The ministers strongly condemned the November 21 launch by North Korea using ballistic technology, even if its purpose is to launch a satellite, as a clear violation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministers also expressed concern over frequent missile tests on North Korea’s territory. According to the ministers, Tokyo and Seoul are ready for trilateral cooperation with Washington on the issue and for interaction with other countries within the UN framework.
