Jordanian parliament supports Azerbaijani-Armenian ties normalisation

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Eldar Salimov has met with members of the Asia and Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Jordanian House of Representatives.

Chairman of the group Abdul Rahim Al-Maaiah stressed that he supports friendly Azerbaijan’s position in normalising relations with Armenia, preparing and signing a peace treaty, the embassy told Azertag.

He noted that Baku is carrying out restoration work in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation and continues making efforts to ensure peace in the region.

Ambassador Salimov informed the Jordanian MPs about Armenia’s non-constructive position in the process of peace negotiations, as well as about Azerbaijan’s efforts to ensure stable peace in the South Caucasus region.

The views on the further development of relations between the Azerbaijani and Jordanian parliaments were exchanged during the meeting.
