Kadyrov reveals number of Chechen fighters deployed in Ukraine

More than 21,000 Chechen fighters have taken part in a "military operation" in Ukraine since Russia launched it on February 24, 2022.

The statement was made by Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, citing a report by the head of the republic's special military operation headquarters, Magomed Daudov.

Kadyrov noted that more than 9,000 of the Chechen military personnel are currently at the frontline.

In addition, Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel that each of the Chechen fighters is provided with all the necessary uniforms and weapons.

"The issue of provision for our fighters is under my special control. I personally keep in touch with the commanders of the Chechen special units," Kadyrov said.
