Kazakh ambassador lauds record trade turnover with Azerbaijan
During the second meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Work Council in Baku, Ambassador Alim Bayel underscored the significant progress in bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, citing record trade turnover and collaborative projects aimed at regional development.
Ambassador Bayel emphasized the importance of the joint efforts between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in several key projects that hold significance for the entire region, Caliber.Az reports citing Trend.
Notable among these initiatives are the development of the Trans-Caspian multimodal transport route (TMTM) and the laying of a fibre-optic communication line, which forms a crucial segment of the China-Europe digital corridor.
"In today's context, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are jointly developing large projects that are pivotal for the region's advancement. This includes endeavours such as the TMTM and the establishment of fibre-optic communication infrastructure, integral parts of the China-Europe digital corridor," the ambassador remarked.
Highlighting the economic cooperation between the two nations, Ambassador Bayel revealed that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan reached a historic high of $530 million last year. He expressed optimism about the prospects for further growth, citing untapped potential in bilateral trade and economic relations.
"Last year's trade turnover between our countries amounted to an impressive $530 million, marking a record achievement. However, there remains vast untapped potential for further expansion," Ambassador Bayel stated.
The ambassador's remarks underscored the commitment of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to deepening their economic partnership and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors. The collaboration in key projects and the notable increase in trade volume reflect the growing strength and significance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
