Kazakh president signs decree on termination of agreement on CIS Currency Committee
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree on the termination of the agreement on the establishment of the Interstate Currency Committee of the CIS countries, which was signed in 2013.
“The protocol on the termination of the agreement on the establishment of the Interstate Currency Committee dated May 26, 1995, prepared in Minsk, Belarus on October 25, 2013, should be approved,” TASS reports referring to the document.
This decision has come into force from the date of signing, July 8, 2022.
The Committee was to help establish multilateral cooperation in currency, payment, and credit relations of the CIS countries, promote convergence and improvement of the currency legislation of the CIS countries, as well as establish cooperation and take coordinated actions in currency control.
The Interstate Currency Committee was abolished upon the decision of the CIS countries, made in Minsk on October 25, 2013.
