Kazakhstan announces plans to develop special operations forces
Kazakh Deputy Defence Minister Sultan Kamaletdinov has said that the Defence Ministry announced the plans to develop special operations forces due to the situation in the world.
“The plans of increasing the capabilities of Kazakhstan’s special operations forces are related to the implementation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s instructions,” Kamaletdinov told TASS.
“In this regard, challenges and threats to military security, measures of strengthening the country’s defence capability, including those to increase the combat potential of the army through the development of special operations forces, territorial troops, and to increase the number of the trained servicemen have been clarified,” Kamaletdinov said.
The deputy defence minister added that Kazakhstan’s military strategic direction must be adapted to modern conditions.
