Kazakhstan eyes closer urban development ties with Azerbaijan at WUF13
The main objective of Kazakhstan’s delegation at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan is to establish connections with Azerbaijani urban planners and specialists in the field of urban development, a Kazakh official has stated.
Alibek Amanbay, head of the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Relations of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan, said the main goal of Kazakhstan is not only to attend the forum, but also to meet urban planners and specialists, establish contacts with them for the future joint development of urban planning documents such as master plans, general plans and other projects, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Amanbay noted that members of the delegation are visiting Baku for the first time and expressed strong impressions of the city.
“Very grand impressions. Not only the organisation of the forum itself, but Baku itself in terms of urban planning, architecture and design is a very beautiful, convenient and modern city,” he added.
He also stressed that the delegation hopes to gain valuable experience in urban planning and sustainable development during the forum.
“We have just started attending the forum events, but we are already impressed. We hope that by the end of the week, we will see and learn much more useful information,” Amanbay said.
