Kazakhstan set to boost oil exports to Germany
Kazakhstan plans to increase its oil shipments to Germany in 2025, aiming for around 1.7 million tonnes.
Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of Kazakh state-owned energy company KazMunayGas, announced the plans to journalists on the sidelines of the Kazenergy Eurasian Forum in Astana, Caliber.Az reports via Bag.kz.
Khassenov stated that last year their deliveries to Germany amounted to 1.5 million tonnes of oil, and this year they plan for at least 1.7 million tonnes.
For the record, Kazakhstan is one of Central Asia’s leading oil producers and has steadily expanded its export markets in Europe over the past decade.
Germany, seeking to diversify its energy supply and reduce reliance on Russian oil, has become a key destination for Kazakh crude.
Kazakhstan’s plans to increase shipments reflect both growing European demand and Astana’s strategy to strengthen economic ties with the EU.
