Kazakhstan to simplify resident permit procedure for some foreigners
The Kazakh authorities intend to simplify the resident permit procedure for foreigners who have in-demand skills.
“A permit for permanent residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan can not be issued to some individuals. The previously issued permit is canceled for those who did not confirm their solvency in the manner and amount determined by the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, except for foreigners having in-demand professions, the list of which is approved by the authorised body on migration issues," TASS reports citing the interior minister’s draft order on changes to migration norms, published on the “Regulative legal acts” website.
Its public discussion on the website will last until February 6.
Doctors, engineers, agronomists, geologists, IT specialists, teachers of higher healthcare education institutions, engineering and teaching staff can obtain a permanent residence permit in Kazakhstan.
Previously, the rules for issuing permanent residence permits did not include the procedure regarding the benefits for foreigners with in-demand professions.
