Kremlin denies Putin sent message to Trump through US diplomats
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Russia President Vladimir Putin had not sent any messages to US President Donald Trump through US diplomats, contradicting earlier comments by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Speaking to reporters, Ushakov dismissed Rubio’s claim that he had relayed a message from Putin to Trump following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“No, no message was conveyed,” Ushakov said.
Rubio had previously stated that after his conversation with Lavrov, he passed along a message from the Russian leader to the US president, though details of the alleged message were not disclosed.
At the same time, Ushakov confirmed that Moscow had informed Washington through what he described as “appropriate channels” about Russia’s intention to carry out systematic strikes on Kyiv.
According to the Kremlin aide, the United States has not yet responded to those notifications.
