Kremlin: Russia adapts to sanctions regime
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the information that the US Treasury Department has sent a request to management companies about tankers that could have transported Russian oil to circumvent sanctions.
"We, of course, realize that the US authorities do not stop their sanctions aspirations. But we are nevertheless adapting to these conditions and acting in the way that best suits our interests," the Kremlin spokesman said, Gazeta.ru writes.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the US Treasury Department had asked 30 management companies for information about a hundred tankers allegedly transporting Russian oil for export to circumvent Western sanctions.
According to a Reuters interlocutor, some of the vessels were allegedly involved in the transportation of Russian oil from the Far Eastern port of Kozmino, while others were loaded at the Primorsk oil port on the Gulf of Finland.
The US Treasury Department itself did not comment on this information.
