Kyrgyz leader to visit Azerbaijan for Turkic states summit
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan on July 5.
Muratbek Azymbakiyev, head of the foreign policy department of the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration announced the visit specifying that Zhaparov will attend an informal summit of the heads of the participating countries of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), Caliber.Az reports citing Kyrgyz media.
The summit is set to take place on July 5-6 in the Azerbaijani city of Shusha.
Hosted by President Ilham Aliyev, the event is expected to gather the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, along with leaders from OTS observer states and the organization's Secretary General.
The focus of the extraordinary meeting will be on transport, communication, and ensuring a sustainable future through climate action.
The summit will address collective responses to natural disasters, climate change, and efforts to strengthen transport interconnectivity among OTS member countries.
Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future through Transport Connectivity and Climate Action,” the summit will provide a platform for high-level discussions on crucial issues and the organization's agenda. Leaders will make key decisions, and finalize, and endorse documents related to various OTS projects.
The summit will culminate with the signing of the Karabakh Declaration and several other significant documents by the heads of state.
