Kyrgyz MP: Azerbaijan achieving success in Non-Aligned Movement
Member of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan Janybek Abirov has said that Azerbaijan is achieving great success in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
“This is Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s great merit. Kyrgyzstan is a NAM observer. President Aliyev outlined very important points during his speech yesterday. Other NAM members also demonstrated their position within NAM,” he told Report.
Abirov added that after the end of the second Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh conflict in 2020, I would like all post-conflict issues to be resolved here.
“We also have some contentious issues with Tajikistan, these issues have been unresolved for many years. All this should be resolved through negotiations and the mediation of fraternal countries. I think that NAM will become the same influential organisation like the UN in the presence of the same number of member states in the next 10 years,” the MP stressed.
While commenting on the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations, he noted that Kyrgyzstan is actively cooperating with Azerbaijan within TURKPA.
“The speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament was in Kyrgyzstan a week ago. We plan to open a park named after Heydar Aliyev in Bishkek, as well as a school in honour of the friendship between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan this year,” he said.
