Latvia provides Ukraine with all its combat helicopters
Latvia will soon complete the transfer of its entire fleet of helicopters to Ukraine. The last aircraft is already being prepared for departure.
Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins made the remarks at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London on June 21, RBC-Ukraine reports.
He recalled that at the end of 2021, the country's authorities decided to transfer portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. They were delivered to the Ukrainian military the day before the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia.
"Since then, our government has spent more than 1.3 per cent of our GDP on all types of assistance to Ukraine, of which more than 1 per cent is only for military needs. So, all our Stinger missiles are now in Ukraine. We have a fleet of helicopters, all these helicopters - the last ones are being repainted to be usable and look good - we are sending to Ukraine," the head of government stressed.
At the same time, Karins noted that, in addition to all the above, his country helps train Ukrainian soldiers and supplies drones.
