Latvian ex-president: Normalisation of Azerbaijan- Armenia ties should be promoted

Former Latvian President and Co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Vaira Vike-Freiberga has said that Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity.

These remarks were made at the opening ceremony of the 9th Global Baku Forum, according to Report.

“However today the tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia has not decreased, and we must promote peace between these countries,” the ex-president said.

She thanked the Azerbaijani president and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center for organising the event, which allows discussing important issues of the world order.

“Today we have witnessed Russian aggression again, which is contrary to all international rules. Such aggression leads to a huge number of refugees, destruction,” the Latvian ex-president noted.
