Launch of Baku-Vienna flights to boost tourist flow from Germany, Switzerland

The launch by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) of direct flights from Baku to the Austrian capital Vienna from next week will have a positive impact on expanding tourism links with countries such as Germany and Switzerland.

The remarks came from Florian Sengstschmid, Chief Executive Officer of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Report Informs, citing the State Tourism Agency.

He noted that Austria regularly conducts promotional activities aimed at increasing the number of tourists.

Chairman of the agency Fuad Nagiyev said that Baku-Vienna flights will promote tourism exchange and make Azerbaijan more accessible to European tourists.

He noted that large-scale measures have been taken to promote Azerbaijan as a tourist destination. In light of this, special attention has been paid to the development of tourism at the state level.

Nagiyev is convinced that the number of tourists from Europe will increase amid the post-pandemic recovery.
