03 June 2026 14:32
Lithuania intends to use the Middle Corridor for cargo transportation to Central Asia and China, Julius Skačkauskas, manager of Lithuania’s Transport Innovation Association (TIA), told journalists.
According to him, Lithuania has a highly developed transport and logistics sector, which accounts for approximately 20% of the country’s GDP.
Skačkauskas said Lithuania is interested in using the corridor to transport goods from Europe to Central Asia and China, while also improving the route’s efficiency and reducing delivery times.
He emphasised that Azerbaijan serves as a vital transport hub linking Europe and Asia and plays a key role in the development of the Middle Corridor.
