Malaysia set for major presence at World Urban Forum in Baku
Malaysia is set to take an active role in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, where the country plans to showcase its urban development initiatives and achievements.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government stated that the forum represents the world’s largest international platform focused on urbanization issues, bringing together government representatives, urban development experts, and industry stakeholders from across the globe, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“The forum will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, innovations, and best solutions for creating more sustainable, inclusive, and livable cities,” the ministry said in a statement.
Officials noted that Malaysia intends to highlight its progress in urban development, housing policy, and efforts aimed at improving public welfare during the event.
“Malaysia’s active participation in WUF13 reflects the country’s unwavering commitment to advancing the global sustainable urbanization agenda and strengthening international strategic cooperation under the forum’s theme — ‘Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities,’” the ministry stated.
As part of its participation, Malaysia will also launch a national pavilion organized jointly with URBANICE Malaysia.
The pavilion is scheduled to open on May 18 under the theme “RUMAH MALAYSIA: Advancing Affordable Housing for All,” highlighting the country’s approach to accessible and sustainable housing solutions.
Malaysian authorities believe the forum will serve as an important platform for sharing expertise, strengthening international cooperation, and expanding the country’s role in the global sustainable urban development agenda.
