Malaysia to present Asia-Pacific Urban Agenda Platform at WUF13

15 May 2026 20:42

Malaysia is set to present its Asia-Pacific Urban Agenda Platform (AP-UAP) at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which begins on May 17 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government has stated.

The ministry said in a statement the country will be represented by a sizeable delegation led by Nga Kor Ming, who also serves as president of the UN-Habitat Assembly, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

A Malaysian national pavilion will also be opened alongside the forum, highlighting the country’s urban transformation efforts, affordable housing initiatives, and sustainable city development model.

The pavilion’s inauguration will coincide with the unveiling of the AP-UAP Platform.

“This will further underscore Malaysia's commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in the field of sustainable urbanization,” the statement noted.

Nga Kor Ming made it clear that Malaysia views WUF13 as an important platform for exchanging best practices, strengthening international partnerships, and seeking innovative urban solutions capable of improving people's quality of life.

“Inclusive national development will be shaped through the creation of cities and communities prepared for future challenges. Through WUF13, we hope to work closely with global partners to build inclusive, sustainable, and resilient cities for future generations,” he added.
