Minister: Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan trade turnover increased more than 4 times
Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has said that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan increased more than 4.4 times and reached $ 598 million.
He made the remarks at the 19th session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, Trend reported on April 7.
"The Intergovernmental Commission plays an important role in identifying promising areas of cooperation. I am sure that this meeting will give an impetus to our cooperation," Shahbazov stressed.
He noted that today Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are participants in a number of projects.
Shahbazov said that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are strengthening due to the political will of the leaders.
The minister added that Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a comprehensive cooperation development program for 2022-2026 during his visit to Azerbaijan in August 2022 to become a road map for the cooperation.
Shahbazov also touched on transport cooperation. He noted the critical importance of the development of transport cooperation between the two countries, adding that Baku is ready to continue cooperation on the existing routes.
In the context of energy, Shahbazov noted the importance of the five-year agreement signed between the national oil and gas companies - SOCAR and KazMunayGas.
Speaking of green energy, Shahbazov said that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are effectively sharing experience in the field of clean energy.
He summarized by noting Azerbaijan's readiness to cooperate with companies from Kazakhstan, both in the field of traditional and renewable energy.
