Minister: Azerbaijan prepares plan to support green agriculture
Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev has said that his ministry created an early warning system to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
He made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the international conference entitled "Vision for the Future: Transition to Digital Agriculture", Report informs.
“We are working on this issue in close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture. A joint action plan in support of green agriculture has already been prepared,” Babayev stressed.
The minister added that the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands from the Armenian occupation has become a new stage in the development of agriculture.
“The 30-year occupation of our lands by Armenia has had a negative impact on the ecosystem of this region. Azerbaijan plans to restore forests in the region. The country’s efforts are aimed at preventing climate change and land degradation. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is our long-term partner. The living conditions of people greatly improved as a result of this cooperation,” Babayev said.
