Moscow expresses concern over rising Middle East tensions
The Kremlin has voiced concern over the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, despite what it described as progress in negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is closely monitoring developments following the US-Iran talks and is drawing its own conclusions, TASS reports.
He emphasized that Moscow continues to engage in negotiations in areas that align with its national interests.
He further noted that Russia maintains active contacts with Tehran as well as other countries involved in the regional escalation.
“We are in constant contact with the leadership of Iran and discussing the situation surrounding the country. At the same time, we continue our communications with the leadership of countries affected by the conflict, including the Gulf states,” Peskov said, highlighting Moscow’s ongoing diplomatic engagement amid rising tensions.
