Moscow: Northern Europe’s security gone as Finland, Sweden dragged into NATO

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that Finland's NATO membership status and Sweden's work to join the alliance have ended the era of security in Northern Europe.

She made the remarks on the air of Radio Sputnik.

The US has long been engaged, even on the margins of the Munich Conference, in "the propaganda of everything that was destroying European security", Zakharova said.

She pointed out that US politicians, while on another continent, are telling Europeans how to ensure their security, imposing opinions that have nothing to do with the European continent's security.

According to the diplomat, when US representatives engage in a dialogue with the Europeans on security issues, "there will be trouble".
