Russian foreign ministry advises against travel to several countries
The Russian Foreign Ministry has urged citizens to avoid traveling to Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Sudan, and Iraq due to ongoing instability in these countries.
Speaking to TASS, Alexey Klimov, Director of the ministry’s Consular Department, said the recommendation was linked to the "difficult domestic political situations in these states," Caliber.Az cites.
He noted that the advisory also applies to the Libyan–Tunisian border and the Sahara region in southern Tunisia.
Klimov stressed that the ministry’s previous guidance for Russians to refrain from visiting Iraq, if possible, remains in effect.
He also advised that travel within Egypt should be conducted only as part of organised tourist groups, avoiding unaccompanied trips along roads outside established tourist routes.
