Pashinyan: Armenia-Azerbaijan trade could become key guarantee of security
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the launch of bilateral trade between the citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan could become one of the most reliable guarantees of security.
Answering media questions live from Washington, he noted that the project aims to ensure that more Armenian citizens can use Azerbaijan’s transport infrastructure without concern, and vice versa, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Pashinyan stressed that if tens of thousands of Armenian and Azerbaijani citizens regularly use each other’s transport networks and engage in bilateral trade, it would significantly strengthen security, stability, and peace in the region.
Pashinyan made the remarks following a trilateral declaration, signed in the early hours of August 9 by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and US President Donald Trump at the White House. The agreement consists of seven points and affirms the parties’ commitment to peace.
