MP: Agreement on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad to upgrade Azerbaijan's geopolitical position
Azerbaijani MP Samed Seyidov has said that the trilateral agreement on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad will upgrade Azerbaijan's geopolitical position.
The agreement on the exchange of preliminary information between the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye to facilitate transit customs procedures for the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad project will raise Azerbaijan's geopolitical position to a totally different level, Seyidov said at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis on June 9, according to Report.
"Participation of the three countries in the project is only the first step. In the near future, we will witness the accession of Central Asian countries to the project as well," the MP added.
The draft law "On ratification of Agreement "On the initial exchange of information for the facilitation of transit customs procedures within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye" was put to the discussion at the meeting of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament) on June 9, APA reports.
After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in one reading.
