Number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran decreases by 25%

The total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 20.2 per cent in January-March of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 and totaled 358,600 people.

The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Russia increased by 46.6 per cent, Georgia - 44.6 per cent, Türkiye - 6.4 per cent, Iran - decreased by 25.4 per cent, according to Report with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Some 39.4 per cent of citizens of the country went to Türkiye, 22.9 per cent to the Russian Federation, 9.6 per cent to Georgia, 8 per cent to Iran, and 20.1 per cent to other countries.

Moreover, 68.9 per cent of those who left were men, and 31.1 per cent were women.

In the first quarter of 2023, 67.4 per cent of citizens who visited foreign countries used air, 30 per cent used rail and road transport, and 2.6 per cent used sea transport.
