Baku, Aktau introduce electronic data exchange between ports
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have introduced an electronic format for interaction between the ports of Baku and Aktau. Anuar Nemyshov, head of the commercial department at Aktau Sea Trade Port, revealed the initiative, emphasizing the use of digital tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
The Solvo cargo terminal management system, operated by the Aktau Sea Trade Port company, is central to this initiative, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
This system allows for the seamless exchange of electronic data regarding container movements between the two ports. Currently, testing is underway for electronic data exchange with KTZ Express, a major freight forwarder, to enable preliminary planning for container storage and vessel loading.
According to Nemyshov, the new system supports dispatch coordination for vessel arrivals, including managing the order of ships at the roadstead and overseeing loading operations. It also facilitates the registration of services provided at the port.
Beyond vessel operations, the digital platform expands to manage the delivery of wagons and trucks to the port, warehouse organization, and the registration of internal warehouse activities, such as cargo movements. It also allows for the connection of refrigerated containers to power, ensuring proper storage conditions.
The system also includes management of the ferry complex, organizing queues and processing the shipment of wagons onto ferries.
