Official: Azerbaijan's budget revenues, expenditures grow 30 times in 20 years
Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues have grown from AZN 1.2 billion ($705 million) to AZN 34.9 billion ($20 billion) and expenditures from AZN 1.2 billion ($705 million) to AZN 35.9 billion ($21 billion).
This is stated in an article by Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Vugar Gulmamedov published in the Azerbaijan newspaper, Report informs.
According to him, these figures show an increase in budget revenues and expenditures by about 30 times.
Gulmamedov noted that since 2003, expenditures related to ensuring national security and the work of law enforcement bodies have increased more than 56 times - from 155 million ($91.1 million) to 8.7 billion manats ($5.1 billion).
"Social expenditures increased more than 20 times in the mentioned period - from AZN 551.8 million [$324 million] to AZN 11.1 billion [$6.5 billion]. Azerbaijan's gross domestic product in nominal terms increased 13 times," he emphasized.
