Official: Azerbaijan-Saudi energy cooperation set to expand
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia in the energy sector is expected to continue expanding, according to Hasan Alattas, Head of Project Development Programs of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to local media on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Alattas emphasised the long-standing nature of energy ties between the two countries, noting that collaboration in this field remains active and is set to grow further.
He highlighted that bilateral coordination intensified following high-level engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy visited Azerbaijan.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy visited Azerbaijan, after which coordination between the parties was further strengthened. Cooperation in the energy sector holds an important place in relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia,” he noted.
Alattas underscored that the energy sector continues to play a central role in the broader relationship between the two countries, reflecting both its strategic importance and the sustained commitment of both sides to deepen cooperation.
