Official: Azerbaijan strengthens cybersecurity across public, private sectors
Azerbaijan is implementing systematic measures to strengthen cybersecurity in both the public and private sectors and to build a national cybersecurity ecosystem, Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, said.
He made the remarks during the 6th graduation ceremony of specialists from the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Centre, highlighting that the country has made significant progress in digital development in recent years as part of its targeted socio-economic policies, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Mammadov noted that digitalisation not only improves government efficiency but also creates broad opportunities to enhance economic competitiveness and the quality of services provided to citizens.
“At the same time, the expansion of information systems alongside digitalisation increases cyber threats, risks to data privacy, and integrity. In this context, a responsible approach by government agencies and the private sector to citizen digital security, information security, and cybersecurity is particularly important as an integral part of digital development,” the deputy minister added.
