Official: Türkiye seeks to export renewable energy to Europe via Azerbaijan
Türkiye aims to transport renewable energy to Europe through Azerbaijan, emphasising the potential for regional and international collaboration in energy projects, according to Zafer Demircan, Assistant Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye.
Speaking during the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, Demircan noted that both regional and international energy initiatives offer important opportunities for trade and cooperation, benefiting not only the countries involved but also the global energy market, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He stressed the importance of prioritising regional energy cooperation, describing such initiatives as effective means of enhancing the energy security of participating countries.
He added that many states are currently exploring ways to strengthen mutual cooperation in energy, and Türkiye is actively considering projects that could be jointly implemented and produced with regional partners.
The Turkish official highlighted that Türkiye intends to play a proactive and influential role in regional energy projects, extending beyond natural gas to the electricity sector. He pointed out that Türkiye and Azerbaijan have already completed several major strategic projects and possess the technical expertise and practical experience to support new initiatives.
Demircan expressed confidence that all international and regional projects involving Türkiye and Azerbaijan will achieve success.
