Paris applauds Azerbaijan’s leadership in global transport forum

Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the extraordinary session of the Transport Governance Council has been highly commended by the International Transport Forum (ITF) in Paris.

In a statement published on social media, the ITF expressed particular appreciation to Azerbaijan for successfully hosting the session and for effectively steering the discussions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

“The extraordinary session served as a vital platform for dialogue on transport policy and underscored Azerbaijan’s commitment to international cooperation in this sector. Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the ITF will further enhance its role in shaping global transport policy,” the statement read.

Azerbaijan’s tenure as ITF chair will culminate with the "Sustainable Transport Financing” summit, scheduled to take place from May 6–8, 2026.
