PM: Armenian government may be dissolved upon people’s decision
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the government may be dissolved upon people’s decision.
Pashinyan made these remarks at a briefing in the park near the government amid an opposition rally demanding his resignation, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
“I reiterate that if the Armenian people want the government to be dissolved, then people will be able to achieve it,” he said.
He explained that numerous police officers and special equipment near the government building are required to ensure the normal activity of the government.
The ongoing protests in Armenia began after the information about the agreement reached on April 19 between Yerevan and Baku to start the delimitation of the border with Tavush (Tovuzgala). On May 9, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, who headed the procession from Tavush (Tovuzgala) to Yerevan, called on the prime minister to resign.
