Polish envoy says WUF13 discussions to support global UN process in New York
The discussions held at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku will contribute to the intergovernmental process in New York, Poland’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Krzysztof Szczerski, said during a session titled “Joint Closing of the Assemblies.”
According to him, the exchanges and negotiations within WUF13 should reflect the views of all stakeholders, including governments, civil society and the private sector, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"The participation of the private sector here should be particularly emphasised. We heard the call from the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments regarding multi-level governance and multi-stakeholder partnerships. These are essential for the localization of the implementation and financing of the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] at the local level. Local and regional governments should be viewed not merely as service-providing entities, but as partners and key participants," he added.
