Positive trend observed in trade turnover between Azerbaijan-UK in annual comparison
Azerbaijan's trade turnover with the United Kingdom increased by 8.6 times for the months of January and February from the same period last year.
Figures published by the State Customs Committee record $215 million in trade volume for this year, Caliber.Az reports.
Over the past year, Azerbaijan's exports to the UK increased 6.4 fold to $73.8 million, while imports from the UK rose 3.6 times to $141.2 million.
The committee's report notes, that the UK's share in Azerbaijan's total exports was 1.55% during the reporting period, while its share in total imports was 3.4%.
According to a report by the British Business & Trade Department, the top goods exported from Azerbaijan to the UK in 2024 were crude oil (70.1% of all exports), power generators (13.3%) and other general industrial machinery (5.5%) while the majority of goods imported to Azerbaijan from the UK include automotive vehicles (62.8%), beverages & tobacco (4.9%) and iron & steel commodities (4.6%).
