Putin discusses with Security Council cooperation in post-Soviet countries
On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Security Council (SC) of the Russian Federation issues of cooperation in the post-Soviet region, TASS reports.
“Today we will consider issues of cooperation with our closest neighbors in the post-Soviet space,” the head of state said at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
Putin noted that Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk is dealing with these issues through the government. “He knows in detail how the work is developing, first of all, on the economic track. I want to invite him to make a message, and after that we will discuss the topic announced today,” the President said.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, speakers of the Federation Council and the State Duma Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, head of the presidential administration of Russia Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Head of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu, Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, Special Representative of the President for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
