Rep: Azerbaijan strengthens South-South ties through Global NGO Platform
The establishment of the Global South NGO Platform in Baku reflects Azerbaijan's continued commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and creating inclusive international platforms for dialogue and action, Mukhtar Babayev, the Azerbaijani President's Representative on Climate Issues, said at the General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform, Report informs.
Babayev noted that under the leadership and vision of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has consistently promoted dialogue, multilateral cooperation, and closer collaboration among developing countries, including during the country's presidency of COP29.
Babayev noted that the current meeting is not only an important institutional milestone but also a continuation of the spirit of solidarity, dialogue, and cooperation forged during COP29 in Azerbaijan.
"The establishment of the Global South NGO Platform in Baku reflects Azerbaijan's continued commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and creating inclusive international platforms for dialogue and action," he said.
He emphasised that the platform is much more than just a space for dialogue, calling it a driving force for action.
"Today, as this platform holds its first General Assembly in Baku, it is clear confirmation that this vision is becoming a reality," Babayev said.
