Russia appoints new permanent representative to OSCE
By decree of the President of the Russian Federation on December 29, 2025, Dmitry Alexeyevich Polyansky has been appointed as Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s official website, Polyansky assumes his new role following decades of experience in the country’s diplomatic service, including key positions within the ministry’s central apparatus and postings abroad, Caliber.Az reports.
Born in 1971, Polyansky graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University in 1993. He is fluent in English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, German, Polish, and French. Serving in the diplomatic corps since 1993, he holds the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, awarded in July 2021.
Polyansky has been awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II class in 2015 and the Order of Friendship in 2021.
