Russia reaffirms its crucial role in Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process
Moscow views the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia—Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev, and Nikol Pashinyan—as relevant, particularly given the current situation in the region.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed this position during a meeting with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Moscow, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"We are ready to provide the necessary assistance in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia across all areas, building on the trilateral agreements reached by the three leaders in 2020 and 2022," Lavrov stated.
He emphasized that these agreements remain pertinent, especially in light of the ongoing developments in the region.
The last trilateral talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were held in Moscow in May 2023.
