Russia's external debt grows by $21.4 billion
14 July 2022 09:54
Russia's external debt increased by $ 21.4 billion, or 4.8 per cent, reaching $ 472.8 billion in the second quarter of 2022.
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation said this in a report posted on its website, according to TASS.
The dynamics of the indicator are due to a decrease in foreign debt of other sectors, which was offset by an increase in debt obligations of public sector bodies denominated in Russian roubles as a result of a positive revaluation, the Central Bank comments.
Russia's external liabilities fell by $30.7 billion (6.4 per cent) in the first quarter, to $451.4 billion from $482.1 billion. As a result, in the first half of 2022, the external debt of the Russian Federation decreased by $ 9.2 billion, or by 1.9 per cent.
