Russia's Tatarstan declares brief state of emergency over drone, missile threat
Authorities in Russia’s Tatarstan republic declared a state of emergency on June 10 amid a threat of drone and missile attacks, according to the regional Emergency Situations Ministry.
The alert was broadcast via the ministry’s television channel, which issued public safety instructions urging residents to take immediate protective measures, Caliber.Az reports.
“If you are at home, do not go near the windows. Take shelter in windowless rooms with solid walls [corridors, bathrooms, toilets, storerooms],” the advisory said.
“If you are outside, go down to a basement, underpass, car park or other safe place. If you are in a building, go down to the lowest floors; do not use lifts. If you are on public transport – stop if possible, get off and take shelter in a safe place.”
The statement added that residents should respond “in the same way as we would in the event of a drone attack threat.”
The emergency alert was later lifted, and no immediate reports of damage or casualties were confirmed.
