Russia shoots down eight Ukrainian drones over Kursk region

Governor of Russia’s Kursk region Alexei Smirnov has said that eight Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Kursk on October 19.

"Eight Ukrainian UAVs of the aircraft type have been shot down over the Kursk region through the air defence forces," Smirnov wrote on Telegram, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

He added that there is still a threat of drone attacks in the area, which had been previously announced.

Two civilians were injured in the Belgorod region. They are receiving necessary medical assistance.

On February 24, 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine for the purpose of Ukraine’s denasification and demilitarisation.
