Russia strikes Ukraine with missiles and dozens of drones overnight
On the night of November 2, Russian forces carried out a large-scale strike on Ukrainian territory, using attack drones and ballistic missiles, the Ukrainian Air Forces have stated.
According to the military, two Iskander-M missiles were launched from Russia’s Bryansk region, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
Additionally, 79 attack drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerber, were recorded approaching from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Ukraine’s defence forces—including aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire teams—repelled the attack across the country.
As of 9:00 a.m., air defences had shot down or suppressed 67 drones over northern, southern, and eastern regions. However, one ballistic missile and 12 drones reached their targets in six locations. Debris from downed drones fell in two regions.
Odesa Oblast was also struck. Drone debris damaged civilian infrastructure, and a fire broke out at a truck parking lot, destroying five trucks. Preliminary reports indicate there are casualties and injuries.
