Russian FSB detains Azerbaijani citizen over alleged terror planning

Russian security services have detained an Azerbaijani national in the Stavropol region on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks, the Federal Security Service (FSB) said.

According to the FSB’s Public Relations Centre, the individual voluntarily joined a Ukrainian terrorist organisation banned in Russia and, under the direction of its leaders, conducted detailed reconnaissance of several sites targeted for potential sabotage and terrorist acts, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

The locations reportedly included administrative buildings of law enforcement agencies and transport infrastructure in the cities of Yessentuki and Stavropol.
